Fast paced, high-end interior design studio seeks experienced Interior Designer – Project Manager to join their interior design team. This position manages multiple projects simultaneously, with minimal day-to-day supervision.

  • Collaborate with Principal to prepare for all meetings, prepare agendas and notes; set up of drawings and all necessary materials; liaison with clients, architects and contractors.
  • Collaborate with Principal on design schemes, design development and presentations.
  • Prepare color and material boards as needed for presentations, and make other reparations for client presentations as otherwise required.
  • Be responsible for meeting-follow-up procedures and direct the return of all materials, samples and catalogues to appropriate place in library, generating and distributing meeting notes, identifying action items.
  • Employ AutoCAD for elevation and plan drawings, and (custom) furniture, rug, carpet and lighting design and layout.
  • Be responsible for custom workroom management
  • Oversee, numbering floor plans; create Studio Webware skeleton and sets up job sheets room by room for completion.
  • Be responsible for preparing architectural contract document package, i.e. plans, specifications, details, hardware and plumbing schedules, electrical specifications, etc.
  • Be responsible for measuring, photographing and cataloging all existing furniture and art, noting conditions, etc.
  • Distribute all relevant correspondence emanating from project(s); including preparation of written schedules, quotations, budgets, specifications, proposals and material reference books.
  • Research and shop for projects as directed by Principal. Research items may be turned over, with clear and concise direction, as needed.
  • Provide Work in Progress reports regularly.
  • Manage project budget generation and tracking.
  • Prepare for meetings, installation and timely completion of tasks.
  • Coordinate scheduling of vendors

  • Degree in Interior Design or Architecture - or extensive work experience equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Interior Designer or Project Manager
  • High level of proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with Studio Webware a plus
  • Must have a valid driver's license and own or have ready access to a car
  • Extensive knowledge of interior design from traditional to modern
  • Strong organizational and conceptual skills, to complete projects flawlessly
  • Prior experience managing staff with excellent teambuilding skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately with architects, subcontractors, vendors and clients
